Seasons Greetings (and LOOK WHAT I GOT!!)

Merry Xmas Prezzie 1

First of all, many thanks to all those who have read and supported my blog this past year, and best wishes for the season …

Next…. Look at what I was given by my wife this morning…. A Bradley Smoke!  It is capable of both hot and cold smoking different foods. The only drawback is that it must be used outside so, given the average temperatures here, I may have to wait a few months at least to test drive it.

Still, one of my other presents was a Kitchen Aid Blender thingie that comes with a whole range of attachments including pasta rollers and cutters and (best of all) a pasta extruder that can make tubular forms like penne rigate, maccheroni etc. You’ll be seeing the fruits of this a lot in the coming months, I predict.

    1. I actually built my own many years ago using a fairly inexpensive hot smoker … I built a wood cabinet around it so I could cold smoke as well. It worked nicely but was too big (and flimsy) to transport when we moved. I can’t wait to try this one….

        I’m just in Iqaluit the week of January 20, then Qik/Clyde and Iqaluit again from Feb. 17 to 28 – for now. Circuits have a tendency to be added on as the months progress. Surely, we can find some time somewhere in there? It’s been so long time since we had a good visit, my friend.

  2. My husband & I just bought ourselves a smoker for Christmas, though it’s a standard ol’ Weber! We’re smoking a small brisket and small rack of ribs as I type. 🙂 I do love my KitchenAid mixer to death – the pasta attachments are my favorite accessory, to date. I know you’ll love yours and look forward to seeing your creations! Happy New Year!
