Hummus with Lamb at the Chef Abod Restaurant in Halifax
My first experience at the Chef Abod Restaurant in Halifax was for a light lunch. Chef Abod’s serves a wide range of Middle Eastern dishes from several different countries and has a very nice appetizer section. The dish pictured above was an appetizer of Lamb and Hummus which turned out to be very substantial and absolutely delicious.

Carpaccio at The Brooklyn Warehouse in Halifax
I very much enjoy Carpaccio and have enjoyed the Italian specialty at many restaurants. At The Brooklyn Warehouse, in Halifax’s North-end, their version is a departure from the classic form and replaces the usual Olive Oil based dressing with a South American Chimichurri Sauce. The result was every bit as tangy and delicious as the standard versions.

Tempeh Grilled at Play, Food & Wine in Ottawa
It is a genuine pleasure to be able to order a food at a restaurant that I have never had before. The dish you see pictured above was served to me at Play,Food & Wine in Ottawa and featured Soy Tempeh, something I had read about many times and never tried before. It turned out to be as interesting and tasty as it was visually appealing.

Oysters Rockefeller at MacKelvie’s Restaurant in Halifax
have visited MacKelvie’s Restaurant in downtown Halifax on a few occasions. It has nice premises just up from the waterfront and the food is generally decent. On my last visit, I went for the Boiled Lobster, but I bean with the ‘Oysters Rockefeller’ you see pictured above. They actually turned out to be pretty decent, but any resemblance to the Classic form was purely coincidental
